Site Engineer

Reporting to the Site Manager and liaising with the client’s Resident Engineer or Consultant, a Site Engineer will almost certainly have formal construction or civil engineering qualifications from OND/HND through to Honours Degree.

The role of the Site Engineer is to ensure that everything that is involved in the project, be it a house, building, road, bridge etc, is constructed in exactly the correct position and elevation according to the plans of the designers.

Working in site engineering jobs means setting out and surveying instruments, accurately plotting the necessary positions to enable the workforce to construct the infrastructure, foundations, drainage, services, frame etc. for the site.

The instruments used by the Vision Homes Site Engineers on a day-to-day basis are, a Level, Laser Level, Theodolite, EDM (electronic distance measurer) and a Total Station. Excellent communication skills are a must as there is a good deal of interaction with Directors, in-house staff, sub contractors and consultants.
