Project Manager
Responsible for the resourcing, development and leadership of a team, defining and communicating project objectives and constraints and complying with health, safety and environmental legislation, thereby delivering the end product on time, within budget and to the agreed quality.
Project Managers aim to maximise profit for Vision Homes and endeavour to exceed client expectations regarding quality, programme and budget thus portraying a positive image of Vision Homes to the client.
Key Activities
- Define and communicate common aims for all working practices
- Build a motivated and effective team
- Ensure that the skills within the team are effectively utilised
- Facilitate and/or provide appropriate training and development opportunities to team members
- Work with supply chain as an integrated part of the team
- Understand and define the project’s objectives from client and project delivery team
- Identify best method of communication for all parties and communicate accordingly
- Develop and publish a project mission statement
- Continuously monitor the vision
- Keep reinforcing and communicating the vision throughout the project life cycle
Problem Solving
- Anticipate problems
- Assess problems to identify permanent solutions and communicate where appropriate to ensure the same mistake is not made twice
- Ensure site team operate in a climate of continuous improvement
- Think outside traditional boundaries and challenge team to do things differently
- Communicate problems upwards and request support
- Understand the needs of the business and prioritise them
- Develop team working ethos with client with detailed definition of roles and procedures
- Tailor recruitment, training and development of the team to suit customer interface and project needs
- Endeavour, wherever possible, to resolve difficulties in non-adversarial manner
- Ensure regular feedback during execution of project, implement necessary changes and carry out end of project review
